Candle discoloration over time is often due to exposure to sunlight or can even be caused by artificial lighting in stores. It is specific to each individual fragrance oil, and will not happen with all of them. While it does not affect the burn or the smell of the candle, it does affect the presentation.
You can use a UV inhibitor to minimize the effects of sunlight. This additive is specifically designed to inhibit the yellow discoloration caused by sunlight or artificial lighting. However, even with the UV inhibitor, it is best to keep them out of direct sunlight and shielded from store lighting as much as possible.
