How do I get a darker colored candle when using soy wax?

  • Updated

Soy wax is naturally an opaque, milky, creamy, white, or yellow color. For this reason, it is more difficult to achieve a deeper color such as dark red or navy blue, or black.

There are a few alternative methods for resolving this problem:

  • Use dye blocks to produce more vibrant colors.
  • Double the amount of liquid dye you are using. If you choose to add more dye, be careful not to add too much as this will interfere with the performance of the wick and the burnability of the candle.
  • Or, you can choose to just leave the color out.
