Why is part of my order marked as a "Backorder"?

For some of our products, we offer the ability to place a special order called a backorder. A item being on backorder means the item was not in stock at the time of order. After you place your order, the product is created specifically for you!
We will always notify you when you add a backorder item to your cart. We also call out backorder items during our checkout process, so you will always know in advance if an item will be a backorder shipment.

 

Are all items available for backorder?

While we'd love to offer the ability to place a special order for each of our items, backorders are currently available for 25 lb pails of fragrance oil only. We hope to expand backorders for additional products in the future!

 

Can I cancel my backorder?

Since backorders are custom orders, they cannot be canceled after the order is submitted. We recommend making sure that all details are correct before completing your order.

 

Can I edit my backorder?

Backorders are not able to be changed after the order is submitted. Ensuring that all of the order details are correct before completing your order is best!

 

When will my backorder ship?

Since we create backorder items especially for you, they will ship outside our regular fulfillment timeframes.
If your order included both in-stock items and backorder products, you can expect to receive your in-stock items first. Each portion of your order will ship as soon as the items are ready. We will not hold your entire order until the backorder products are able to ship.
Once your backorder ships, you will receive a tracking email for that shipment!

 

Can I pick up my backorder?

You are welcome to pick up your backordered product if you are local to our Durham, NC warehouse. Once your backorder is ready to be picked up, you will receive an email notification. For more details on picking up at our Durham warehouse, check out our article here
If you are not able to pick up your order at our Durham location, your backorder must be shipped.

Can I return items from a backorder?
